Sports law is not a single legal discipline but encompasses a number of legal areas. Consequently our sports team is multi disciplinary and provides advice on a range of legal issues, such as commercial, employment and dispute resolution.
We are also one of the few law firms to also provide a management service to professional sports stars, through a sports management business, 8 Total Management Limited.
Legal
We provide a full range of services to sports clubs, organisations and individuals, in the following areas:

- Image rights and IP issues
- Disciplinary issues
- Doping issues
- Sports disputes
We are also the legal advisers to Celtic Crusaders, the only professional rugby league club in Wales who have recently been awarded Superleague status. We also sponsor the Crusaders.
Examples of recent experience:
- Acting for Colin Jackson in relation to licencing his image rights to a food manufacturer to develop branded products.
- Acting for Alun Carter, ex-Wales analysis coach on departure from Welsh Rugby Union and then subsequent commercial contracts with national media.
Management
We provide management advice on contractual and commercial issues to individuals through our sports management company, 8 Total Management Limited.
Examples of recent experience:
- Acting for rugby players, Matthew Watkins, Liam Davies, Rhys Priestland and Peter Sidoli in agreeing contracts with Gloucester, Brive, Scarlets and Calvisano respectively.
- Acting for athlete John McFall in negotiating sponsorship agreement with Adidas.
