Upon qualification, Rhys joined our employment law team. He gained experience in assisting both employers and employees on contentious and non-contentious employment law,.
Since joining Darwin Gray, Rhys has developed a large sports law practice becoming a market leader in advising high profile rugby players and coaches in both the UK and France. Rhys has recently advised on a number of high profile international player moves and conducted employment tribunal proceedings for players against clubs for a range of claims such as unfair dismissal and age discrimination. As a result of this specialist knowledge Rhys has been awarded a rugby agent's licence from the French Rugby Federation that allows him to represent professional players and clubs in France and is one of only two licensed agents who are not French citizens.
In April 2010 Rhys became a Consultant for Darwin Gray specialising advising high profile sports people on various contractual issues.
Rhys is a fluent Welsh speaker and following his period in Paris and a season working for Agen Rugby Club is also fluent in French.
