Sustainability is essential to a long-lasting future, and we at Darwin Gray understand this. We have specific policies in place to reduce waste and energy use.
We shred and recycle all office paper and cardboard. We use old office paper by recycling it to be used as internal scrap notepads. When purchasing paper we use either fully or partly recycled paper for copiers and printers. We are continuing to reduce our use of paper by employing electronic storage and communication.
We provide filtered water at the office, which has removed the need for bottled water altogether. We also separate all our rubbish and involve everyone in reducing waste
Our office lights are on motion sensors and we save energy by switching off electrical equipment whenever we can. Our offices are close to good public transport connections enabling staff to travel to work on public transport. We use bike couriers for local deliveries, and we use local suppliers to reduce our carbon footprint. All employees are offered the Government-backed cycle purchase scheme to assist them in buying a bicycle in order to cycle to work.
We recycle all our empty toners through I-Tel Laser Supplies who in turn donate a percentage of recycled toners to various charities. Old office phones, mobile phones, and accessories are given to The National Autistic Society for recycling, so that all proceeds go directly towards helping people with Autism.
