At Darwin Gray, it is central to our ethos to look beyond the immediate day-to-day scope of our work.
On top of actively promoting equality, diversity, and sustainability, we are always looking for ways to engage more directly with the community in South Wales. We believe that little things can make a difference to our community and the people in it. Here are some of the ways in which we at Darwin Gray are working to make that difference.
We work hard, but we also take the issue of balancing our work and lives seriously. We believe a healthy approach is beneficial to the firm, our employees, and as a result our clients. That means we actively pursue family-friendly policies and we encourage our staff to take time out and enjoy themselves.
Living Wage for Wales
Darwin Gray is proud to be the first Welsh law firm to be accredited as a Living Wage employer by The Living Wage Foundation, as of 1 July 2017.
This commitment will see everyone working at Darwin Gray, regardless of whether they are direct employees or third-party contracted staff, receive a minimum hourly wage of £8.75 which is significantly higher than the statutory minimum for over 25s of £7.83 per hour (the National Living Wage) introduced in April 2017.
The real Living Wage is an hourly rate set independently and updated annually. The Living Wage is calculated according to the real costs of living.
