Kempton joined Darwin Gray as a partner in 2008. He is head of the Dispute Resolution team and advises on a wide range of disputes as well as insolvency cases. Kempton is recognised as one of Wales' leading commercial litigators and insolvency specialists.

Kempton graduated from Oxford with a degree in Engineering Economics & Management, after which he worked as a production manager for a construction company in the City of London.
After two years at Law School, Kempton joined a major city firm in London where he completed his formal legal training. On qualifying as a solicitor, Kempton moved to Cardiff, joining Darwin Gray as a partner in 2008.
Kempton advises on a wide range of business disputes. Recent cases have involved contract claims, shareholder disputes, banking law, fraud, public law and intellectual property issues.
Kempton frequently advises insolvency practitioners on all aspects of corporate insolvency, including administrations, receiverships, and liquidations. He has experience acting both for and against directors of insolvent companies in respect of their fiduciary duties and antecedent transactions.
Kempton is consistently recognised as one of Wales’s leading commercial litigators and insolvency specialists in both the Legal 500 and the Chambers & Partners publications. Kempton also sits as a part time Judge in the First Tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber).

Kempton volunteers for The Prince’s Trust, while also learning to speak Welsh. He enjoys singing with various bands, playing golf, watching rugby, and keeping up enough flying hours to maintain his pilot’s licence.
