Fflur joined Darwin Gray in 2003, becoming a partner in 2010. She is head of the Employment and HR team and provides advice on all aspects of employment law, with a specialism in discrimination law. Fflur is passionate about providing exemplary HR and employment law advice to all clients.

Fflur has been a member of Darwin Gray since 2003, when she joined the firm upon qualification. Fflur became a partner in 2010. She is also Head of the Employment and HR team.

Employment Law Expertise

Fflur provides advice on all aspects of employment law, with a specialism in discrimination law. Fflur's clients include public sector organisations, including schools, third sector organisations, including charities and not for profit organisations, housing associations and individual employees and partners.

She is an experienced negotiator of terms when employees or partners join or leave their employment/partnerships and she also regularly advises on unfair dismissal, TUPE and redundancies. Fflur also drafts contracts and handbooks, shareholder and share option agreements and partnership agreements. She also provides advice on the Welsh Language Standards and on other Regulatory Compliance issues.

Fflur provides training in both English and Welsh. Some of the issues she has delivered training on are discrimination law, sickness absence, contracts and handbooks, the Gender Pay Gap, TUPE transfers and handling disciplinaries and grievances. Fflur has also delivered seminars on Equality and Diversity for the Cardiff 20 Twenty Leadership course and on a variety of employment law topics in conjunction with Menter a Busnes. She is also an expert on the employment law implications of the GDPR and has delivered extensive training throughout Wales on the subject, including on behalf of ACAS.

Fflur is a regular contributor to radio and TV programmes on Radio Wales, Radio Cymru and BBC Cymru Wales where she shares her expertise on employment law.

 

Fflur is passionate about providing exemplary HR and employment law advice to all clients. To encourage best practice within the sector, in 2016, Darwin Gray set up the Wales HR Network, in conjunction with Acorn Recruitment. The successful inaugural Wales HR Awards took place on 23 March 2017, with more than 350 people in attendance to recognise and celebrate excellence in HR. The annual event continues to grow with the inaugural year being followed in March 2018 with a glorious Awards evening held on that occasion at the prestigious Exchange Hotel in Cardiff Bay.

Regulatory Compliance

Fflur's other specialism is Regulatory Compliance and the Welsh Language Standards. She has advised a number of clients on the implications to their organisations and has also assisted Housing Associations with Housing Regulator investigations and whistleblowing complaints.

Public and Administrative Law

Fflur is extremely interested in legislative matters arising out of Brexit/ Devolution. She has written a paper on The EU Withdrawal Bill, has participated in a Conference in the European Parliament on the Reform of European Electoral Law and contributed to Plaid Cymru's submissions to the Justice in Wales Commission.

Personal Interests

Fflur loves music and plays both the piano and the harp. Her other passions are current affairs, cycling and cooking.
